Self discovery is a journey not a destination. My likes and dislikes today are quite different to what they were 5 - 10 years ago and Iโve no doubt they will continue to change throughout my lifetime, based on the events and experiences I encounter. However, for those of you who are interested to find out a bit more about me, who I am, where Iโve been and why Iโm here on Substack, here are a few fast facts about me:
Iโm 46 years old and live close to the River Thames in England, where I enjoy long walks along the riverside, in the fields with cows and horses and sometimes through the woods where the views are just breath-taking ๐ณ
Iโm happily married to my gorgeous husband Morgan, weโre both self employed and have a grown up daughter Eloise who left home and started her own journey of self discovery last October ๐
I grew up in a large family (1of 8) but kept my family small, having just one daughter and a fur baby Cocker Spaniel called Skai (sky not Skay) amongst many other names ๐
I became self-employed in 2015 after taking redundancy from a job I absolutely loved. Amongst many things, I wrote letters to customers - those old-fashioned ones we used to print on actual paper and post โ๏ธ๐ฎ Oh, and did I mention it was for a wine company ๐ท
I have a Degree from the University of Life - as so many of us do ๐ my subjects so far are Personal Development, Grief & Trauma, Building a Business and Holding onto Happiness through Journaling, Meditation and Mindfulness ๐ง๐ปโโ๏ธ๐
My hobbies are walking, reading and of course writing โ๐ป also, as you can tell, I love using emojis ๐ฅฐ oh and I love rainbows ๐
My favourite authors are James Clear and Greg McKeown - they have helped me find clarity in finding my purposeโฆ and it was a 3-2-1 Thursday email from James Clear that bought me here to Substack around 3 months ago ๐ง
My favourite quote - โWhether you think you can, or you think you canโt - youโre right.โ Henry Ford
As a personal development enthusiast, I plan to share what I have learned here on Substack and one day hope to publish my own personal development book ๐
Iโd love to get to know you all more and invite you to leave your own โfew fast factsโ in the comments below ๐ฌ
Thank you for reading ๐
Until next time, take care of yourself and cherish your time โณ
Love it! I love how you said you have a degree from the University of Life. That's the most effective school there is!
Hi Shelly, What a lovely introduction. I'm from Lincolnshire, England. It's finny, when I think of the river Thames I only think of Londom and not walks where there are fields with cows.
