"Stop Scrolling, Start Strolling (and other ways to feel more alive)"
The Saturday Simplifier #1 - 1 Quote to Inspire - 2 Simple ideas to move the needle - 3 Words to think about
Welcome to the first edition of The Saturday Simplifier.
Each week, Iโll share an experience or quote thatโs caught my attention and inspired me to do or think about things differently, more simply, more easily. These reflections will be short (less than a 5 minute read) with the aim of inspiring simplicity in your own life too.
I hope you enjoy them and Iโd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
1 Quote to Inspire
This week's quote emerged while we were dining at a charming Italian restaurant. As the waiter, in his soothing Italian accent, inquired, โWould sir like another glass of wine?โ my husband cheerfully replied, โWhy not? You only live once!โ The waiter, with a knowing smile, gently corrected him โIncorrect, sir. You live every day - you only die once.โ
2 Simple ideas to move the needle
One thing Daily - doing one thing every day that makes you feel alive, present or fulfilled. This could be trying a new food and really focusing on the flavours, texture and aroma. Maybe watching a sunset without distraction or through a screen.
Writing a โdone & dustedโ list - things you did which made you feel fulfilled or accomplished.
Put the screens away - stop scrolling, start strolling!
I love my daily walk in the woods, by the river or even around our neighbourhood. Noticing sounds of birds singing, children playing or just the peace and quiet. Itโs so calming and re-energising, itโs also a great creativity builder. If walking isnโt available to you, listen to some music, write in a journal or sit outside and just be.
3 Words to think about

Until next time - stay happy, stay kind and stay you!

I enjoy my morning walk through the park to get to my place of work. Right now itโs fresh and green. There are ducks, squirrels and lots of smaller birds. People walk their dogs, runners pass at a pace, but itโs still peaceful and a tonic for the start of the day.
I love that quote! People say you only live once all the time, as if life sounds better saying that.
We only die once.
Life is a gift from our Creator day by day.
